We reach out to the community in a variety of
ways. "One Voice" is a project that collaborates
with houses of worship to ensure that members
of the congregation who are hard of hearing
can enjoy the services. If you’re having difficulty
in your location of worship, suggest that Hearing
Loss Association of America, Rochester Chapter
help them assess what they need - free of charge.
We’ll travel anywhere (well almost!) to provide a
display and information for large groups of people,
fairs, or other shows. Libraries are a great
resource to all of us for a variety of information.
HLAA members have "adopted" several libraries
to visit and keep the informed of hard of hearing issues. Occasionally, we provide programs at the libraries or have a display. We’re particularly interested in the needs of our hard of hearing seniors, and work with other agencies and organizations to reach them.
