Money raised from our Walk4Hearing is applied in ways which contribute to our mission of providing information, education, support and advocacy for people with hearing loss. Money is used to provide scholarships towards college tuition for students with hearing loss, to pay for captions and assistive technology used at chapter meetings, funding for hearing devices for people who cannot afford them, and conducting seminars on coping with hearing loss for families. We fund captioning of live theater performances, and hold events where people who don’t hear well can learn how to live fulfilling and successful lives despite the often isolating feelings which can occur with hearing loss. Every contribution to our Chapter is appreciated and used wisely and we thank everyone who contributes in any way.
